Halyards and sheets are fully integrated into the deck, the self-tacking jib track is counter set in front of the mast, all hatches are flush with the deck. The sprayhood fully integrated into the cockpit emphasises the effect of lots of space and an extremely tidy deck.

Special attention was paid to the Hanse 470 sailing characteristics. Especially in light wind the boat has a speed potential far above average. As in her taller sisters a T-shaped keel and a high performance steering system and self aligning rudder bearings contribute to a superbly balanced sailing performance. The new, large swimming platform in the transom is a special feature on the 470.
